After an initial physical examination, your Veterinarian may recommend to you that a surgical consultation be performed by Dr. Fallon. When this occurs, Dr. Fallon will evaluate your pet's condition in your Veterinarian's hospital and recommend possible treatment options. Your Veterinarian will discuss these options with you, along with procedural cost estimates. Should you choose surgery, you will make arrangements with your Veterinarian, who will schedule the case with Dr. Fallon. In most cases, you will pay fees directly to your Veterinarian.
Prior to surgery, your pet will usually require some additional tests to ensure the safest surgical outcome. We will give your pet anesthesia to allow surgery to be as comfortable as possible. A skilled Veterinary Technician will monitor your pet's anesthesia and assist during surgery.
A wide range of surgical procedures are available through Ambulatory Veterinary Surgery, including orthopedic, general and surgical oncology. Ambulatory Veterinary Surgery provides specialized equipment and diagnostic procedures not routinely available in most general practice veterinary hospitals.
We will review post-surgical instructions with you, outlining the care your pet will need at home. It is very important that you understand and follow these instructions to ensure the best outcome for your pet. Occasionally, cases may require transfer to a local veterinary surgical referral hospital for more extensive care.
